What kind of computer do you have if your a gamer?
Almost any computer made at some point in the last 6 years should be able to run WoW, WoW:BC, and WoW:WotLK just fine.
Blizzard believes in putting out fun games with low system requirements to make them accessible to everyone.
If you want to make sure your computer can run WoW, visit http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/ and select World of Warcraft from the list. It'll make you install some doohickey (a completely safe doohickey), and then scan your computer to make sure it can run it.
Wrath of the Lich King has slightly higher requirements than standard WoW, so once you make sure you can run that, look at this link http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/faq.xml#2_8 (System Requirements for WotLK)) and compare it to what the other website says you have.

World of Warcraft is “addictive,” you know; other players continually put pressure on you to be online and neglect other activities. It’s a built-in part of the game. Better find another game.

If you’re looking to actually buy a new computer there are a few options. Any computer these days is generally pretty decent. About a year ago I picked up just a standard HP desktop PC, put an extra $200 into it for an upgraded video card and power supply (got an nVidia GeForce 8500GT) and it ran WoW easily. The PC total with a 3 year warranty and upgrades cost maybe $1100-$1200 for just the tower.
If you’re looking for a laptop, there’s one out there that I highly recommend that I just bought a month ago. It’s built by Toshiba, called Qosmio. One of the best gaming laptops out there right now, next to Asus computers. The Qosmio has an nVidia 9700GT and it will run WotLK with ease.
As for the first guy’s answer putting down WoW and those who play it. It is an addictive game, however only if you let it be. Both my wife and I play, and yet we have a healthy family life. We spend time with our kid and do other things than play WoW.
